Because our employees care, Ascendium Cares
The Ascendium Cares employee giving program is based on a simple premise: We rise by lifting others.
We believe in making an impact.
That doesn’t just apply to our work with borrowers, our education philanthropy or the student success solutions we develop for colleges. We are also committed to making a difference in the communities where we live and work through our employee giving program, Ascendium Cares.
Good Neighbor Grants
Good Neighbor Grants are $15,000 grants given to local nonprofits that share Ascendium’s commitment to increasing education and workforce training outcomes for learners from low-income backgrounds. Our employees nominate and vote for nonprofit organizations they feel best represent Ascendium’s philanthropic ideals in their communities. The top vote-getters are awarded Good Neighbor Grants.
Volunteer Time Off
We encourage all employees to get involved with their communities, which is why we offer paid volunteer time off. Employees volunteer their time and talent to help a local nonprofit organization — on company time! A large majority of Ascendium employees participate in the volunteer time off program, giving hundreds of hours of service throughout the year.
Our Adopted Organizations
In 2018, our employees chose three nonprofit organizations to adopt for three years: Vera Court Neighborhood Center in Madison, Wis.; Northeast South Dakota Head Start in Aberdeen, S.D.; and the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville, Ind. Since then, Ascendium employees have helped upgrade a computer lab to support literacy programming, chaperoned students on field trips to a local fire station and made blankets for families with small children, among other contributions. Each adopted organization was selected because they embody our mission to champion opportunity for everyone and are located where our employees live and work.
